Galaxy S25 Edge price is lower than Ultra but release may be limited

Samsung has dangled the upcoming Galaxy S25 Edge in front of fans at Unpacked and MWC 2025 but has yet to reveal everything about the device. One of the things Samsung hasn't mentioned so far is the Galaxy S25 Edge's price.

Past rumors said the Galaxy S25 Edge may cost somewhere between the S25+ and the S25 Ultra. A new report (via Financial News) suggests the same but claims to have uncovered the exact Galaxy S25 Edge launch prices for Korea.

According to this new report, Samsung will sell the 256GB Galaxy S25 Edge in Korea for 1,500,000 won ($1,029) and the 512GB variant for 1,630,000 won ($1,118).

If that sounds cheaper than expected, it's because Galaxy phone prices in Korea are generally lower than other markets. The Galaxy S25 Edge will most likely cost a bit more in regions outside of Korea.

For reference, in Samsung's home country, the Galaxy S25 Ultra with 256GB of storage costs 1,698,400 won ($1,165), and the 512GB model has a 1,841,400 won ($1,263) price tag.

Meanwhile, the 256GB and 512GB Galaxy S25+ costs 1,353,000 ($928) and 1,496,000 won ($1,026), respectively.

A small initial batch and no 1TB version

While Samsung has teased the Galaxy S25 Edge a couple of times this year, it hasn't yet announced when the phone will go on sale. However, it is believed that the phone may hit the shelves in May, following a formal announcement in April.

The recent report says Samsung will initially supply roughly 40,000 Galaxy S25 Edge units, with more to be produced after release. This could mean that the initial Galaxy S25 Edge launch will be very limited.

Samsung sold 1 million Galaxy S25 units in Korea within the first 21 days on the market. An initial batch of 40,000 units for the S25 Edge sounds minuscule in contrast.

Lastly, the report states that the Galaxy S25 Edge will be available with 256GB and 512GB of storage, but there won't be a 1TB version. Those 40,000 units will be split between the two memory configurations.
